THE ULTIMATE ROAD CHALLENGE IN THE WESTERN GHATS

Get ready to push beyond your limits and own every mile — this is no ordinary race. The Western Ghats Ultra Marathon invites you to take on a challenge set amidst the raw, untamed beauty of the Western Ghats of Mulshi. Run through dark, winding roads shrouded in mist, surrounded by towering mountains, dense forests, and the shimmering backwaters of the iconic Mulshi Dam.

The marathon route winds along a scenic stretch that borders the Tamhini Wildlife Sanctuary on one side and the historic Mulshi Dam on the other — a truly unique combination. This region, blanketed in the lush greenery of the Sahyadri mountain range, is home to rare species of flora and fauna found only in this part of the Western Ghats. It’s more than a race; it’s a journey through living, breathing wilderness.

And just when you think it couldn’t get any more thrilling - Western Ghats Ultra Marathon starts at 12 am. You run through rolling hills under the starlit sky, beside cascading waterfalls, with the unwavering energy and support of Team WGRF pushing you forward.

From the rugged 5-mile mountains,
through the demanding
10-mile climbs,
and over the fast
20-mile hills,
to the penultimate
30-mile stretch—
SUM is the ultimate road challenge in the Western Ghats!
